Red on Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! It seems like red is the color of the day, so here are some illustrations from my life. Red cards ready and waiting.

More red on the dining room table. Flowers, candle, Japanese doll and plum candy - decorations from our Chinese New Year celebration last weekend.

Whatever you may be celebrating today, I hope it includes the passion and sweetness associated with red.

Happy Thanksgiving

I'm off to my sister's house for a family Thanksgiving. My contribution is seen here. Pies: apple, pecan and cherry. The apple is very large, deep dish and made with Granny Smith apples. The cherry pie was made with Splenda, for those who much watch sugar. This is my first sugar free pie, hope is tastes good.

The red dish is the classic fresh cranberry-orange relish.

I always make pumpkin pies, and will make those on Sunday when we will have company here at our home. It seems odd not to have pumpkin today.

Thanksgiving

Cream puffs

Happy New Year!
I had a hankering for a Sanders hot fudge cream puff sundae, so this became our special New Years day dessert. Made here with peppermint ice cream. Yum!

One of my favorite things to do in the kitchen is make pie! In this photo: apple, pecan and pumpkin. I hope you have some good eatin' tomorrow and remember to count your blessings.



This is a blog mostly about sewing, so I will share my new kitchen curtains here too. The fabric was selected to be able to coordinate with my Autumn Leaf dishes and pale blue kitchen walls. The walls need to be painted, but this won't be happening soon. So this batik seemed to fit the bill.
